... is so named because it consists of 5 little huts built on stilts about 4 metres high in the trees, and linked to each other with a boardwalk. We booked the entire camp and went with a group of friends so it was a lovely social get together. I've never been there in winter before, so I have never seen the trees looking so naked, nor have I seen snow on the mountains there before.
@narayani It is a delightful spot. We used to go there twice a year for many years with a group of friends when we lived in Cape Town, but haven't been back for ages now. Somehow, when you leave a physical location it seems that although you remain friends on a one to one basis, the closeness and "groupness" disappears. But we have lovely friends in Port Owen now, and organise quite a number of group outings
@s4sayer The K9's LOVED it. Tug, our little old man, obviously clearly remembered happy days there from many years ago, and he became quite a puppy again, wandering around all over the place, visiting all the chalets, with his little stumpie tail high up in the air wagging like a helicopter.
@ludwigsdiana Diana it is not far for you to get there - only a few hours drive from Stellenbosch. It is near "The Baths" near Citrusdal. So some of our group went off to The Baths for a day of natural hot spring jacuzzi's and swimming pools to warm up in the winter chill
