Another grab shot from yesterday in Cape Town. In between chores I needed to achieve while hubby was in theatre, I just felt it would do me good to take 10 minutes out to go back to the beach where we used to live a decade ago. Although I'm happy where we live now - one can be happy anywhere if you decide to be, I do still miss my old beach and walks and view ...
@beckyk365 Thanks Becky. About 150km from where we now live. We are still on the coast, so I have access to a multitude of beaches between here and Milnerton. But that was just special to me and I never stopped appreciating the beauty of "Our Mountain"
@narayani I loved my little home and thought I would be carried out in a box. But then Don retired, and he started getting frustrated with only a single garage and one parking bay because he wanted to tinker with all his workshop tools in the garage. And he became frustrated with the rules in the Estate we lived in, which never bothered me. My mother had some pearls of wisdom when she said to me "you can't eat a view" and then I realised there are more important things in life than being in a location I loved. We found a house in Port Owen, and it happened to have a granny cottage, so without planning it that way it was as if it was meant to be, because then I could bring my parents to live with me for their last 8 years so I could look after them until they passed away.
@anniesue Thank you. Yes it is pretty classic isn't it. The same photo millions of tourists take. I think what differentiates this from a photo taken a decade ago is the posture of that woman walking behind the man and his dog. I didn't spot it with my naked eye, but in the photo it is obvious to me she must be on her cellphone. Sigh! A sign of today's times that one cannot stop texting, or whatsapping no matter how much you should be enjoying the outdoors?
