No I didn't take this shot today. It's an oldie, but one of my favourites. From one of my favourite ever road trips. But I was notified today that my submission into the Orms Cape Town School of Photography, Open Space Exhibition had been selected as one of 30 curated images to be printed and displayed for at least 2 weeks or longer. The exhibition theme is Hit The Road
WoW! Huge congratulations for well deserved acclaim for this magnificent shot. It's amazing. Reminds me of the sort of scenes that were in films like 'The Ten Commandments'. Breathtaking drama. Am doing High 5s to you!
@s4sayer Thanks so much, Margo. This place is sort of biblical and like the ten commandments. It was such a well hidden valley it remained almost undiscovered to most people until fairly recent times. The first road in to this valley was built in 1962, and it is not easily navigable. Some call this remote and isolated valley "Die Hel" but I think it is a little piece of heaven.
@bf2016 Thank you so much. I am hoping to get into Cape Town while the exhibition is on to see the other images in this exhibition. It is a very small exhibition as they selected only 30 photos to print and exhibit.
@narayani Thank you very much, Narayani. I was privileged to be able to go to this amazing place and get this shot on the way down into the valley. It took us over 2 hours driving time to cover the 40km down into the valley.
