This time last year I took cakes to the frail care and arranged a whole bunch of people to visit my mother on that day, to celebrate the 60th wedding anniversary she wasn't able to celebrate with her lifetime partner. Strangely it seems like just yesterday, but yet it also seems to be a different lifetime.
Oh yes I know how you feel. My mother has been gone 35 years and I still miss her terribly. I love looking at photos of my parents when they were young, I’m guessing you do too. This is such a beautiful photo! They look so young and happy. Your mother’s dress is gorgeous!
@beckyk365 Thanks Becky. Yes I do like the "young photos" ... and I guess it is always the firsts that are difficult, first birthday, first anniversary etc.
You look so like your mother...and that's wonderful. I've got a photo of my Mum and Dad, which I think was taken shortly before they were married. I must post it. It makes my heart sing ;-)
@anniesue It is poignant isn't it. I so clearly remember my parents in the last few years, but I can clearly remember them as young parents too (although of course I never thought they were young. Not ever!) But my Dad was always my handsome hero, and I thought my mother was very pretty
@s4sayer Thanks Narayani. They were mostly happy, although I do recall one or two bad patches - but they seemed to make it up and were very much there for each other
