Went down to the harbour again today specifically to take a coke to yesterday's subject, only to find that team weren't working on the boat just peeping in to this frame on the left. I took a few shots of this trawler instead, and called up to these guys working that their situation looked very precarious and dangerous. "Yes ma,am" said the one with the green pants. "It is dangerous, but I need to fix my boat and this is all I have". Not sure if you can see it in this photo, but he is using two wooden pallets held up with ropes, and a wooden plank between the pallets. There is nothing to stop them falling, and when a power boat went roaring past, the wake caused this big trawler to rock quite alarmingly.
Yes...I can see clearly the planks and ropes, stabilising the pallets. It's a vexed question how to help those who are immensely resourceful...yet have no resources. I have yet to find a solution that does not compromise an individulal's integrity.
