Life's flotsam seems to turn up at the fishing harbour on a weekend when none of the working people are there. This woman "backpacker/tramp" was obviously very conscious of the missing teeth although she was happy to agree to let me shoot her. Took quite a while of just chatting to her and taking a few photos before I could get her to relax enough so that she looked natural and wasn't trying to keep her mouth closed for the photo. With those bloodshot eyes I wondered if she hadn't also spent the night nearby sleeping off the effects of cheap booze after the "Pool Dog" closed in the early hours of the morning.
@narayani Thank you. Have printed a less "intimate" portrait to take back to the harbour in case I see her there again. ie a portrait showing her shoulders and chest and a bit of space around her. This one is very "in your face" but it is kind of my style
