After the busy-ness and preparations for having the whole family to my house for Christmas Day it is great to get out and walk on the beach with my daughter Nikki, her husband Barry, my pack of Yorkshire Terrorists, and their two rescues. Thank goodness all the dogs are getting on well in my house. They haven't met before and it would've be quite stressful if we found any issues between the two packs when they have just driven 2 days from Johannesburg to get here.
@julzmaioro Thanks Julia. Yes it is lovely to have a relaxing family day. Tomorrow I have to be cleaning my holiday apartment again for a changeover of guests so will miss out on a day with my daughter and son in law - but that is just the way the cookie crumbles
@ludwigsdiana Thanks Diana. Yes lovely, thank you. Nikki and Barry came all the way from Jo'burg with their dogs, and then we had my hubby's brother and sister in law, and their son with his wife and son. So not a huge gathering but lovely all the same, and just a family time.
Sounds just enough family for variety, not too many which can leave quieter members stressed, especially if they've travelled far and at some inconvenience.
@narayani Thanks Narayani. It really was such a treat to have my daughter and son in law. Very relieved the dogs are all getting on well in the household. It has meant Nikki and Barry are free to go into Cape Town for a few days to visit friends and leave the dogs with me. My house feels very full, but it is only for a short while
How wonderful to have your daughter home for Christmas! I don’t know about you but I love having a full & hectic house because I know it’ll be over in a blink of an eye.
