Coming Home

Well I arrived back home again today after almost 2 weeks away visiting my family, and with no fresh veg or meat in the house I decided to go to the harbour to buy fish 'n chips for supper. Happened to find a trawler coming home while I was waiting for my order
That must have been wonderful to be with your family. Would you consider moving closer?

@narayani It is always great to see the family again but I don't think it will make sense to move. My social circle is here where my home has been for the last decade. Young families may move if work transfers them or if they decide to emigrate as so many South Africans are doing. So if I move closer to them they may feel trapped into staying because of me, or they may move on and I am left in a city I don't like without any of my friends or support network. (I don't like Johannesburg. It is big, busy, noisy, badly maintained because it is run by the ANC govt, . . . etc. At least the Western Cape is currently run by the DA opposition party so maintenance of the infrastructure is much better. But the jobs and the money are currently in Jo'burg so that is often why folk have to be there to earn a decent income)

@777margo Thank you.
@ludwigsdiana Thanks. I was glad the gull remained on the top of the mast for me.
@pusspup Thanks very much. I didn't quite make the next shot of the lasso being caught by the fellow just out of the frame to the left

Yes it’s important to have the support of your friends...it’s so true that the young ones could go anywhere.
I didn’t notice the rope being thrown til I read your comments - great capture!
