Next year I must put some more time and effort into learning more about light and controlling it better for still life and table top photography instead of just grabbing what I see in front of me.
Lovely detail of the sugar (salt?). Al and I were just discussing how we want to make an effort this year to get out the cameras and not be so reliant on our phones. I feel like I’ll need to relearn a lot of basics.
@beckyk365 Thank you. Yes sugar. I was thinking about my parents and one of the memories that popped into my head was that they introduced me to alcohol with a ginger square when I was a teenager. They said they wanted our first experience of alcohol to be at home. My mother prepared a glass with sugar around the edges. Then my dad measured out the ginger brandy and ginger ale, with ice and a maraschino cherry on a little stick. They made it very special. This is a poor attempt but will get better!
@ludwigsdiana Thanks so much Diana. The drink is actually cheap lemonade and it all went down the sink. I wanted some bubbles and although I don't drink lemonade at all, I bought the Spar brand lemonade because it was half the price of soda water or tonic which I would drink. I figured that by the time I am done setting it up and shooting it, the drink would be flat anyway, and no longer enjoyable
