Overnight Stop

Whenever I do the long drive to Johannesburg I stop at this farm on the N12 as they are pet friendly for my dogs, and the accommodation is fabulous and the people are fabulous. But I am thinking I need to investigate other options along a different route as I am starting to dislike the N12 as it approaches Johannesburg.
Such a lovely country road.

Nice to have a good place to stop, but also nice to explore other routes.

@ludwigsdiana @narayani Been browsing Google Maps to look at alternate routes. Will start searching out pet friendly accommodation and then decide how much to change my route. Don used to take us different routes every trip but I have been a little "nervous" so far.

Is that the N12 above? Or a road leading to your accommodations? It’s so rural which I love. The highways around here have such heavy truck traffic, it’s makes travel very stressful.

@beckyk365 The N12 is a very good tar road as it is a National Route. This happens to be a farm alongside the N12, and this is the little farm road to the accommodation with the signs directing one which fork to take. I usually ask for the old farmhouse accommodation called Bloubos if that one is available, but on the other side of their own house they have a newly built and furnished place as well so one needs directions. Our national routes also have lots of trucks, some modern and fast, but some old and very slow, and yes the combination of fast moving traffic and slow certainly adds to the stress of the drive
