Hornbill by seacreature

Hornbill

Our last morning and my last shot as we were packing the cars to leave. There were hornbills right at the house when we arrived so I thought it would be easy to get the shot I really wanted, but they never came back until we were leaving. I guess a 2 year old toddler and a 5 year old running around together screaming kept everything away until they were safely in the car with their scooters etc. Unfortunately no time to try and get a better shot than this as everyone else was ready to leave.
A story shot - a last memory of a great holiday.

At least you got a shot, it must have been a fabulous sight.

@anniesue Thanks very much. It has been a great holiday for sure. I feel absolutely spoiled by my daughter and son in law for all the wonderful experiences they have given me.

@narayani Thank you very much. Just a bit sad I couldn't get the "botanical" shot as well. But I guess arty is good too

@ludwigsdiana Thanks Diana. I have a soft spot for hornbills ever since living on the edge of the Kloof Gorge many years ago where we had loads of Trumpeter Hornbills. These hornbills in Limpopo Province are very insignificant compared with the Trumpeters, but yet they still bring back happy memories.
