After sunset

I have missed so many sunset opportunities because of various things - but mostly because of loadshedding and poor planning around it. I can't get my car out or in during loadshedding, and of course I have to make sure I have food cooked for the dogs etc. But tonight I made an effort. Got my car out before the 4pm - 6:30pm loadshedding. Fed the dogs in good time, and was down at the harbour mouth at 5:45 hoping for a good sunset at 6:08pm. It was freezing cold with a wind that was about to blow my tripod over. Sunset was okay, but nothing great, so after the sun went down and the lights came on again I walked the short distance back to where I could get a view of the harbour instead. Had to shoot this crouching down near ground level because I was afraid my tripod and camera really would be blown over. Although it was a disappointing sunset, it has left me feeling like I really do need to take control of my life again and plan around loadshedding a whole lot better.
A nice scene

What an inconvenient time to be without power!! Especially if you have kids to feed. Great clarity for such little light.

Loadshedding is really messing up our lives here!

You managed a great shot, I love the starbursts of the lamps.

@Dawn @pattyblue @narayani @ludwigsdiana Thank you so much. Yes it is inconvenient especially for those young families out at work all day and then having to get kids bathed and fed in the evenings. I am one of the lucky ones in that I can be flexible about my mealtimes and shower times etc., but it is even starting to get to me. Tonight we are without power from 4pm to 8:30pm, then midnight to 2:30am, and then again 6am - 8:30am tomorrow morning. It seems never ending.
