The 1600km journey home started today. My halfway stopover was in a little town in the Karoo called Richmond where I stayed at an art gallery which has a few bedrooms. The art gallery was called MAPSA - Modern Art Projects South Africa.
I discovered I don't like Modern Art. Some I found downright silly such as 6 square meters of space filled with a whole lot of empty potato bags. There was no explanation so I couldn't fathom what the artist was trying to convey. Much of it, though, I found macabre and depressing like this etching by Diane Victor called The Water Test. There is no way on earth I would put something like this in my home.
Apologies for the light reflections in the glass from the open doorway. I could not find a way to avoid them
@ludwigsdiana Thanks Diana. Arrived home safely this afternoon. It has been two long days of driving - left Richmond just after 5am this morning, and now I am exhausted and ready for an early night.
1600km in 2 days, on your own, that’s a lot of driving!!
Glad you arrived home safely x
