Victoria passed away in August 2008 at the age of 39. She was diagnosed with skin cancer and died 99 days later, leaving a husband, two young children, a sister and parents.
Her passing has devastated our family, and we are still struggling to come to terms with her loss. I miss her terribly, and still struggle with the questions "Why her? Why us?"
I bought this old destination blind from a London Bus, and it hangs in our house in memory of Victoria.
February 4th is Victoria's birthday. Happy birthday mate.
@ozziehoffy Thanks Cassandra. That is kind of you. Do pass my thoughts and love from afar to your friend. Whenever I hear of someone who has suffered a loss like ours it makes me contemplate, reflect and wonder how life can be so wonderful, and yet so unjust at times to those who least deserve it.
@seanoneill Sean... feel free to leave them directly to her... do you have Amanda on your friends? She's very open about it. It very much feels so unjust, doesn't it.
That is so heart-wrenching, Sean! 9 years ago yesterday, my father in law died of cancer very young. Sorry for you loss. I know it hurts to be without loved ones.
I'm so sorry to read of your family's loss, Sean. That sounds so tragically unfair. I hope the passage of time has helped the healing process. I hope to hear her children are getting along o.k.
@amandalomonaco Thank you Amanda. I appreciate the time thatyou have taken to read about Victoria. She was a very special young lady, who will now be forever young in our eyes.
@rockinrobyn Thank you Robyn, Yes, unfair, cruel and many other things. For me the rawness of the pain goes away, just to leave an ongoing ache that is forever with me. I doubt that the rawness has yet left Victoria's parents, husband, sister and children.
