It is named after the Zouche family, who were large landowners in the area from the 12 and 1300s onwards. The family actually gave their name to Ashby de la Zouch as well, a small town about 20 miles away. Some of you may think that if pronounced Zoosh it has a French twang to it, and you would be right, as the original Zouche was a Breton who settled in the area in the mid 1100s.
@myautofocuslife Lol, and long may it continue. I would expect there to be a law against Emoticon Abuse in Europe. Some sort of European Court for Emoticon Abuse!! We've got one for everything else!!
love your "Zouch", it sounds, in French like "une mouche louche sur une souche" (= a shady fly on a stump).....it doesn't have any sense but it's funny !!!
Love the name sign Sean ;))
