This is a shot of Kegworth Town Cricket Club Academy team. You will see my son Sam back row third from the left.
This summer saw the formation of a local Academy league, where the best players in all age groups at local clubs form a league to play very competitive cricket, with full international 20 20 rules.
Monday was finals day, with 2 semi finals and a final. Our team reached the final with a thrilling victory over Loughborough Carillon CC. We lost the final to Barrow Town CC, but it was a great game, which ebbed and flowed.
The weather was atrocious, with steady rain, but we got the game played and managed to raise several hundred pounds for our club along the way.
The cricket season for my junior teams is almost over. My U13 team won their league, and now have a district final this thursday.
Whilst the weather has been awful, all the lads at KTCC have enjoyed a fantastic summer and can all be very proud of their achievements.
