Fig study ~ 1 by seanoneill

Fig study ~ 1

I love Figs.

They are such a photogenic fruit I think.

I have deliberately cropped the shadow to make more of the fruit in this photo.

We grow and consume more than 1.1m tons of Figs each year, with Turkey growing the most at approx 300,000 tons. The Figs in this shot are from Turkey.

I am now looking forward to these Figs being transformed into my wife Rebecca's delicious Fig and Frangipane Tart.

I have a beautiful watercolour painting of some figs, which in many ways is the inspiration for this photograph
Great food shot! Nicely captured!

Figs are a wonderful visual fruit but I am afraid I was put off them by school dinners & have never eaten one since...too gritty. Perhaps I should give them another go!!! Love the way you have got the focus here & they are very pretty inside.

lovely shot, Sean. It reminded me that I should go and have another look in a local nursery to see if they sell small fig trees. I've always wanted to give growing one a try.

Great shot! I had never seen nor eaten a fig until last year. I think I can go another 48 years before eating another.

Photographed so delectably I feel like I could reach in and pick it up and enjoy it -- with ricotta cheese and fresh minced herbs on it!

I'm enjoying looking around your album . . . thanks for the follow, and am now following you back! I can tell I have a lot to learn from you.
