On the surface, this is about as uninteresting a shot as I could post.
However, context is everything.
My main business is an import and sourcing business. I source almost exclusively from China, and have a large customer in Ireland, who I was visiting this week.
Everything I source for Ireland comes through Dublin Container Terminal, and with several shipments due in there is every chance that this ship had some of my containers on it.
It is a bit dark and grainy, but was taken at 735am as the sun was coming up from the deck of the ferry, which had positioned itself nicely between the rising sun and the container terminal.
In the background are the Wicklow Mountains, and in the foreground is the River Liffey, provider of the water used to make Guinness.
I love Harbour photography, and this is stunning with the colours and light and lines. I live on the doorstep of our Harbour but almost impossible to get in there for photography because of the security issue. Yes, we even have that here!
@happypat@24atlantic Ah, I'm a Stena Line man Pat. Ever since Irish cancelled a ferry on me a few years ago!! I guess I shouldn't have taken these Megan but no-one stopped me!
@seanoneill Oh I am definitely Stenna Line myself, much superior to IF but the Stenna ferry goes into Du Laoghaire doesn't it ? We missed our SL ferry when we went to Killarney & had to go Irish Ferries, the food was rubbish!
