Father Christmas~Santa Claus~Pere Noel~Banana Christmas
He knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake!
Only a few days for the world's excited children to wait now.
A very busy day on thursday, so my planned shot was squeezed in with about 20 minutes to go before midnight.
Mine and Rebecca's last day at work today before the festivities commence. First party tonight, but I can't have a drink as I have to drive half way across the county to take and fetch Sam from a party. London tomorrow to see the lights etc, getting ready on sunday and monday, Christmas Day at our house with Rebecca's parents, then trips to the races, football, to see friends, my first family portrait commission (scarey!) and lots of other things too!!
This is a 12 inch high pottery figure that we have on our fireplace every Christmas. One year a few years ago, Father Christmas left this for us as a thank you for some particularly scrummy mince pies and carrots, and a tot of whisky.
Thank you for continuing to comment on my photos, and apologies for the lack of thanks. I am trying to catch up with as many of you as I can today, but I guess we are all in a similar position!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> yep, it's pretty much a case of 'snap, upload, quick glance around, run>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>' Nice photo of a cute Santa Sean, hope you and your family enjoy the holidays now!
.... Just re-read that, I didn't mean this photo looked like a quick snap and run....... that's how I've been this week is what I was trying to convey!!
As a child I spent 6 months in Germany and St Nicholas used to visit every night from 1st to 24th December so we had to be good for all of those days or we had sicks and stones left in our shoes instead of sweeties!! Enjoy this evening and the next however many you are celebrating and have a wonderful fun time with the family!!..and a full stocking of course!
@fannyb Thank you Fanny. My litle nephews grew up in Germany so we have seen them celebrate in this way too. I hope that you and your family have the most wonderful time and that little Tabitha and Rufus are full of awe and excitement. Only four more sleeps now!!
@lyno@amandalomonaco@hjv@leananiemand@tesssa@rachelmackenzie@godders@soboy5 Thank you all. Amanda, i have a piecie of White Vinyl and several pieces of coloured velvet and card that I use as backgrounds, this was the white vinyl. I also have off camera flash which is what I used here. I also have a diffuser to take away shadows and soften light were needed, and one lighting stand. I am hankering after another and 2 soft boxes for the front of them. Mostly these are shot in my dining room, so it is all a bit Heath Robinson. I just move light and flash around depending on what type of shadow I want. When the kids leave home, the train set and pool table are toast, and the garage is mine, all mine, hahahahaha!!
@seanoneill Love the evil laugh...someday I hope to have a good lighting set up, too. You do great inside, Sean. That is an area where I still struggle. It will come, though.:)
@willowdragon Thanks Al, I love Germany, and their seasonal traditions are so strong throughout the year. Glad you like Banana Christmas, I've edited my title for you ;))
nice Father Christmas - I've been slack on commenting, posting, looking!! hope to catch up more over the next week if I'm not too distracted by food and drink!!
Great shot, love that Santa. Hope you had a super Christmas and found time to relax... so much racing around beforehand but that's part of the whirl I guess. :)
