Ahhh thats better...

A mug of tea in my favourite mug often makes the world a better place. I am rather partial to a steaming hot mug of Assam tea, and rarely drink coffee unless it is diluted with lots of hot foaming milk!!

When you get to my age, you never walk past a toilet or a biscuit tin if you don't know how far it is to the next one!
Nice steam action.

LOL to your comment re toilets and biscuits! I love a good cup of tea i'm also very particular about the mug I drink it from too!

Lol ..... nice shot of the steam :)

This is a great shot, Sean - love the steam. My girlfriend is from Ireland, and I always make her a steaming hot cup of tea in the morning. As for me, I am a coffee man.

I was confused by the soup mug, but then I clarified it when reading. Very nice shot; love the steam.

A touch of Warhol to boot... :) great steam.

Very nice capture of the steam Sean. I'm extremely lucky, since hubby brings me a lovely cuppa every morning in bed (Red Bush is my fav)!

Nice cup of tea and a great shot.

Love the steam, laughed at the toilet bit !

@fueast just a little one liner I use every now and again. In the summer months I swap biscuit tin for BBQ. Ben still laughs but I fear that is waning!

Love that steam and how cute is that biscuit with the union jack on it. I can still pass a toilet but have never been able to pass a biscuit tin.

Tea in a soup cup? Love the rising steam.

Lovely shot. i like your mug, the steam and how professional it all looks against the black. I like my tea in a tall snowman mug a student gave me about 6 years ago!!

A smoke shot in disguise! I saw a good tutorial from Photkonnexion yesterday...... am going to give that a try some time! I like this, love your comment about toilets and biscuits hehe!

Blimey what about your very slightly older friends?!! Agree with Jackie......its all a ruse to show us how clever you are at smoke/steam shots!!! ha ha

@fannyb @jackie8 It is just a little one liner I use, but one daty it will be true!! I'm quite pleased with this one because I had t merge the best parts of 2 shots. When I exposed the mug right the steam disappeared, and when I exposed the steam right the mug was over exposed, so a little bit of moving, pasting, blending and lowering opacity was required :))

@kwind I think it is one of life's golden rules to have a favourite mug Kim. I actually have 3 favourites, just in case!!

@nadaa Haha, funny, I would never dream of drinking soup from a mug, I think it needs a spoon :) So, this is defintely a tea mug, despite the design. It has lasted me so long, I think it must be 8-10 years old now!!

@kjarn Haha, in the summer I swap biscuit tin for BBQ.

@ingrid2101 Thanks Ingrid, a real favourite one liner of mine, that one day will be true!!

Sean - I drink gallons of tea but never coffee. Sadly the first part of your one liner is now a reality. Did make me laugh and a great shot by the way

At YOUR age Sean!! This a wonderfully 'simple' shot - the mug and biccies against a nice black background but that steam is a masterpiece!! By the way how CAN you drink tea out of a mug that clearly announces soup?? haha!
posted January 14th, 2013
PS Boring biscuits ... should be dark choc digestives at least ...
posted January 14th, 2013
@tishpics I know Pat, I know, comic effect let down by the disbelief that so many of my followers have that a 47 year old needs frequent toilet stops lol. There is so much that is wrong about this shot, yet I ask myself, how can anyone drink soup from a mug?
posted January 14th, 2013
@tishpics haha, but they wouldn't have showed up against a black background :) Don't worry, there are always McVities Choc Digestives in my house. I like to think that if the 3 minute warning went off I would put the kettle on and have a couple of Choccy Digestives and put on my favourite Clash song.

Cool shot, I could not drink tea out of a mug with soup on it though, I can't even drink coffee out of the Milo mug we have in our house. Love the steam in this, would like to see this shot Warhol style!

@cathy366 hmmm, there is an idea. I am surprised at the number of comments about it being a soup mug :)) My wife has a Very hungry caterpillar mug, now that would be horrible!!!

Great shot Sean!, a lovely capture of the steam

Awesome shot!!!

haha... I already never pass a biscuit tin without pausing!!! ;)

I never got used to tea when I lived in the UK. I'm stuck on coffee and can't pass by an apple pie. Good job plugging in the steam.

Aha, a Warhol mug. I suppose there must be a set of 57 to collect? Spot on about the biscuit tin by the way!

Excellent! shot Sean. Love the steam! Too true about the toilet and it only gets worse!! Regarding favourite mugs and coffee, i am much the same only I prefer coffee but if it's tea it's Assam!
posted January 15th, 2013
I like the way you captured the smoke and I agree on the biscuit tin.
