Brighton in the mist ~ 7 by seanoneill

Brighton in the mist ~ 7

The guy on the right featured in a Film Noir style shot a couple of days ago.

What I had witnessed prior to this was a bit of a barney (argument) between the two guys in the shot, and then he retreated to a safe distance so they could both lick their respective wounds.

My guess is that the relationship will not last as long as Brighton Pier has.

Viewed large is best, it increases the tension and creates a sense of tranqulility in the no mans land between the protaganists.
Wow, what a shot!!

Great series of shots...definitely lots of atmosphere, both between the couple and the scene itself.

Glad that isn't the same couple from the embrace - even more of a FAV than the last FAV. The effect of the mist is superb.

That misty shot just adds to the tension between these two...love the way they are sitting a distance apart.....at least she hasn't gone storming off, there is still hope!!!
Beautiful hazy struts under the pier...fave!

What a great atmospheric capture. I like how the figures show up in black, against the misty pier.

I love the contrast between the well defined people and the ethereal pier.

Wow! So much heart captured..... a superb comparision in your words and in the photo

I knew this was Brighton beach right away. I've strolled down this pier before. Had a special moment. The grains of the sand with the dark forms of the two people - then flowing up into the mist and structure of the pier. Incredible. You are brilliant

@apogee2012 thank you so much for your "lump in my throat" comments. They're hugely appreciated. I'd take one comment like this a day over all others. I doff my cap at you in thanks!

Even without the explanation about the barney the mood is so evocative. That pier is fantastic. Fav
