Family memories

Today would have been my sister in law Victoria's 45th birthday. Tragically, she died of skin cancer in August 2008.

Born and brought up by mum and dad John and Rosemary in Hathern, Hathern Village Hall was a place where she trod the boards from an early age, on her way to a career in dance that took her to the Brit School and Laban.

We all miss her, and the sadness hangs over us. Today we should have been having a glass or two of wine, and wishing her a happy birthday. Instead we visited her grave and laid flowers in remembrance.

Miss you mate, always will.

Please don't feel the need to comment or console, I post tributes to Victoria on her birthday and the anniversary of her death every year and I am sure that many of you have expressed your condolences in the past.

Lovely shot. The clouds behind the hall are so dramatic against the black/white treatment of the bricks. Nicely done.

Still a lovely thought Sean & a comfort to all to know she is truly missed & remembered...hard for parents to lose a child!

This is a lovely shot. Your processing always makes the brick work look fantastic. Sorry it's such a sad day for your family today.

Remembrance is what keeps those we loved and lost in our lives…a great picture and I hope it brings back good memories.

I like this classic building. Your expression of remembrance is beautifully stated. You have a way with words when it comes to such things.

Wonderful piece of History, if only the walls could talk

Memories linger, happy and sad. Raise a glass in her memory anyway.

I love how buildings look like faces sometimes. Celebrating a life, lovely tribute.

Like the hall, and your image of it. Understand your deep sadness at your loss, far too young!

Every anniversary must remind you of how wrong this is, and the grief renews itself. But in between I hope she lives on in your hearts.
