I have wanted to shoot some old Colliery Winding Gear for some time, and had planned to go on a scouting mission while we were staying in Sherwood Forest.
Then last sunday afternoon, Rebecca popped up to the small shop on the site and rushed back to tell me that she had spotted some old winding gear through the trees! I clambered up and down banks, over disused railway lines and stuck my camera through the fence at the winding gear which was about a mile away! I was lucky enough that the sun set between the two sets of winding gear.
Obviously, my main album has been B+W for nearly a year now, so it has to remain so. The colour version will be in album 2.
Apologies for clogging feeds. I will stop posting after the colour version is up and come back tomorrow
that's a great image - works well in b&w
(I've probably asked you this before, but have you been to Ironbridge and Blists Hill? they have lots of this stuff in interactive museums)
@seanoneill@humphreyhippo
Oi! Don't you two be ganging up on me! You know you'll regret it!
(......yet again I thought of turning to @allisonraposa for support, and yet again I thought better of it ;) )
@bluefirebucket I've got two lads kicking lumps out of each other after a week in each other's company, not sure I want to start the next war of the roses!
@humphreyhippo .......slowly but surely, I'm getting there. @allisonraposa I'd probably get more support from one, never mind the pair ;) @seanoneill you're just giddy coz she mentioned stockings! :)
