New Covert on the 1st

As many of you will know, I plan to visit one of my favourite landscape photo locations on the 1st of the month this year to take some shots.

Today I planned that my main album shot would be something different, and then I saw the farmer walking across the field. I think he adds a sense of scale.

Other shots in my other albums.

Other than that, a busy day. A rites of passage day for my son Sam, as I have just taken him into Loughborough and bought him his first car. My 2 nephews are with us from mid afternoon, so we can take them to the Ice Hockey in Nottingham tonight, they've never been, they will love it!!
I really like the composition of this picture. The farmer does add to the picture.

You are totally right, the farmer is a wonderful addition to this shot. I like how much the farmer stands out despite being such a tiny part of the frame.

I think you are quite right about the figure making the shot. Super bleak feel nevertheless to the piece. Super study in greys -works well for me.

Congratulations to your son on the car but the insurance must be horrendous! I am sure he is very grateful.

they were unable to cope with Suarez this afternoon - he was the difference though Saints will have to address the lack of pace in the centre of their defence.

@gooner46 thanks Chris, insuring it is tomorrow's job!! I've been to the ice hockey tonight so missed the game. Hopefully we will get back on track the next couple of games.

Amazing how such a tiny figure can be so important to the composition. Nicely done, and I think the best of the series.

Wonderful capture, love the farmer in the field...fav. Hope your nephews enjoyed the ice hockey...and Sam is enjoying his independence or more like you're enjoying not being a taxi driver!

He does add a sense of scale indeed, he also (coupled with the line in the field) leads your eye to and fro across the shot. Nicely done.
