A grey, wet and very overcast day today, the first time this year it has been like that at this location on the 1st of the month.
Thank you all so much for the very kind words about Ben and my family in recent days. You are all the most generous spirited community. The last 2 months for my family have been an incredible journey and when I stop to think of what may have happened, I am so relieved at where we are.
In that time I have neglected my friends on 365 and been sporadic in my comments at best. When I add that at the moment, my photography is in a poor place, I think I need a break.
Today I post my 2000th photo on 365, and though I probably only need a short break, I think 365 needs a break from me posting 3 shots a day and failing to find the time to comment on so many of your projects.
Thank you all. Good luck with your projects, I will miss you all while I am away from here and will try and drop in to view your projects when I can. I hope to be back in a few weeks.
Very cool composition here Sean. I really enjoyed a short break last year. I know how draining the photo everyday and commenting can be. I will await your return.
I love the lead in-between the seed to the hill and tree. Son effective in the b/w. You have had so much on your plate but continued incredible well with your project. We all understand about not keeping up, we just have to step back and do what we can at times or all the time! Hope you re energise and post again when ready.
I hope you will be back too!!
Understand your reasons for needing a rest....sometimes I am tempted to stop but think I would miss it too much but there again I am at home all day.
I think you might be back sooner than you think... ...the photographer in you won't be able to stop your self !
Lovely photo Sean......would be lovely in colour too!
Congratulations on your 2000th, Sean! I don't know how you do it, I can't even keep one album properly filled these days!
Enjoy your break, I hope you get some good r&r with the family. I do hope you make it back some time, though, it won't be the same here without you.
The lines and tones in this are fabulous.
Have a good break - I'll miss seeing your pictures every day. You've given me great ideas and I thank you for that. Hope you have some good family time.
You earned your break, Sean. Saturday will be my last day as well, so I hope you will stop by to check my going-away post. I like the geometric shapes in this one.
Lovely shot Sean. I didn't realise it was your son that I saw on the news a few days ago. What brilliant news is that? I met @cazla last night and she told me that it was your son. I am so pleased for him and your family. You must have been through such an awful time recently and I didn't realise. I'm sorry. Enjoy your time off. I know how time consuming 365 is and you deserve a rest to enjoy your family. Don't be gone too long though. Perhaps we could arrange a Leicestershire meet as there are a few of us here on 365. could be fun!
@shepherdmanswife thank you Chantal, for such kind and supportive words. Ben and Glenfield deserve their 15 minutes...I think a Leicestershire meet up will be great. I only plan to be gone a month, just need a short break.
Breaks are very good for the soul, mind, and camera. You will return no doubt rejuvenated. You cannot leave permanently. I would be too sad. My thoughts are with you and your entire family! Oh, and next month I will be getting your photo properly framed and prominently displayed in my home. Such a treasure. So are you. See you soon.
@darylo Thanks Daryl, I am still shooting, and have been out with a fellow 365er today and taken lots of shots. I will be back sometime soon. I am glad you are getting my shot framed. I am still very honoured to have sent it to you.
@seanoneill Wonderful! I had to take a break in January between year one and two. I even started too early, but I wanted to end on my 50th birthday. :) The camera is a permanent appendage--one I like to think is essential. :)
Wow 2000 photos, that's quite some achievement Sean, especially when there isn't a bad one amongst them! Enjoy your break, I get where you're coming from as I'm feeling a bit like that myself at the moment! Have a lovely weekend.
