Newport Transporter Bridge ~ 1

The older I get, the more I fall in love with our industrial heritage.

A mixed day, Sam has revision to do all week so a lazy morning followed by a drive to Newport to visit Tredegar House and the Newport Transporter Bridge. Then back to our log cabin, where Sam has just cooked Tagliatelle Carbonara for us all.

Here is a view of the Transporter Bridge platform coming into dock at the east side of the River Usk.

The Transporter Bridge is an incredible Grade 1 listed structure built in 1906 and one of only 6 bridges like this still operational in the world.
