Fabulous shot Sean....all those solid looking stone flags......such history there......wonder how many famous feet have walked those?
Love the b/ w ...perfect for this shot.....so many lovely features, even the bike is a suitable type! Fav!
I was sure this was going to be one of Judith Greenwood's! Lovely tone, texture and contrast of shapes Sean. That Alison gets around, @paulaw and myself are meeting up with her Monday for some lavender fields photography!
If that door is just the right height for me then the bike is definitely too big! Nice find and very well shot. Sounds like we might be seeing more shots from you, Sean, which is very good news.
I have only just seen this shot on my thread as I was backtracking through a huge upload from a couple of people, also it didn't appear on my notifications which was strange. So apologies. Thank you for your thanks to us, and of course the afternoon tea treat. Love this typical Cambridge look shot. The old walls and stone flags give such a feel of history, so good in b/w.
Love how the angle emphasises the disparate proportions of the bike and the door. Classic composition and great in b&w, of course. I like the way the light's defining the panelling on the doors.
I've noticed in NT and cathedral wanderings that these low doors often open onto descending flights of steps/stairs. Wonder if that might be the case here?
Thank you to you too, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day and it was very kind of you to treat us to tea, much appreciated.
