Taken on January 2nd on a wonderful walk we all took around Bembridge foreshore and through the town. I've note quite got my 3rds and other proportions right here, so I guess we will have to go back!
We then had a lovely lunch at the Crab and Lobster in Bembridge, which I would recommend.
I have to confess to having a bit of a blow out over Christmas. I gave up bread at the end of August last year and lost 2 stone in weight before Christmas. I put on half a stone over Christmas, despite many long walks, which tended to end with a glass in my hand!! Still, 4 days of being careful since Christmas and half of the weight gained has gone.
Well Sean, thirds or not, I think its a lovely shot! Rules are made to be broken (but of course only by those, such as yourself, who know how to use them! The danger with rapid weight loss is the yo-yo effect but it seems you are handling it well... and you have to let go for Christmas! The only method that works for me is to meticulously count calories in and out (except on high days and holidays!) - takes a lot of research and time (I've now built up a spreadsheet!) and many would find it tedious, but i'm a data freak!
Sean, may I ask, was it only bread you gave up or all wheat? I need to loose weight and want to do it in a healthy way.mi eat way too much bread, it's a real downfall.
@ceilidh hi Margaret, I did stage one of The Harcombe diet for 5 days, then stage 2 for 3 weeks, and stuck to it religiously. I lost a stone in a month. Since then I have tried to cut snacks out and have given up bread completely and lost another stone in 3 months. I try to have a brisk 20 minute walk each day as well. Now, it's no bread, and everything else in moderation especially wheat and potatoes. I try to limit my carbs intake especially. I have a breakfast bowl of oatiflakes, but I do allow myself a treat too!
