Ratcliffe Power Station

If you have followed me since the early days, you will know that I live near this place, and enjoy photographing it.

It is rarely operational these days, and is scheduled for closure as we become more green as a nation.
Now that is a picture of home. Can't actually see it from home, but on journeys away from home it in the distance is a sign home is near. On drives home from swimming, the road across from a fluffy animal village has some beautiful sunsets with this as the backdrop, it's there as we drive across the moor home and as we walk to school in the morning the steam clouds can create some stunning skies. I'll miss it when it's gone.

Reminds me of a shot I took of Plant Bowen in Ga (coal fired plant) https://365project.org/darylo/album4/2015-09-26

You'll be gutted when they blow them up!

Ahhhhhh - I remember them Sean. I told my husband that some of the old faces are back on 365, and described you as 'the one who used to post the photos of the cooling towers.' Good to see them again, while they are still around. They make us think of our trips up to Doncaster to visit his family.

@humphreyhippo I'm hoping they won't, though I think they will.

Ah, now you are really back!

Good to see you back Sean... and to see those cooling towers once more. I have been absent for some time but I'm still lurking hereabouts! I'm at the 'sharpening my pencils' stage of preparation! Hope I can get started again soon.

Welcome back, Sean. Don’t know if you know but Fiddlers Ferry closed this year, in April just as something else took hold.
