This shot was taken from the Genesee Hill neighborhood in West Seattle. Seattle is built on hills which affords views from many areas: "The seven hills of Seattle is an unofficial designation of several hills that historians claim the city of Seattle was built on and around. The name comes from the similar tradition in several other cities, most notably Rome and Constantinople. Seattle's topography is due largely to Pleistocene ice age glaciation. Nearly all of the city's seven hills are characterized as drumlins (Beacon Hill, First Hill, Capitol Hill, Queen Anne Hill, Mount Baker) or drift uplands (Magnolia, West Seattle).["
Boat trip with matching mountains...now that is a way to travel! TYF explanation of drumlins; have just looked at eskers too. This is the stuff of Pub Quizzes!
Love the depth and layers in this.
