365 bird experts: I think this is a Finch variety. What say you? I tried to match it in my Northwest Bird book but no luck. This shot was taken at Lincoln Park several days ago. Thanks for stopping by.
'Our birds' that have been festing on nuts, seeds and fatballs are now dashing around nestbuilding etc. We've also noticed that several, although not all, seem FAT. Our deduction is that these are female and having been fertilised, their eggs are forming inside them ready to be laid in due course. At this stage of course, we'll hardly see them as the male does the initial dashing and carrying for food.
