Pelagic Cormorant by seattlite

Pelagic Cormorant

A few days ago, I walked down to Don Armeni Park on Elliott Bay. I saw two different looking cormorants. This is the first of two shots. I will post the second shot tomorrow. Following is what I found out about Pelagic cormorants: Pelagic Cormorants are the smallest of the cormorants along the Pacific Coast. Their feathers have a green iridescent sheen. The tufts of feathers around the rump appear during breeding season. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your day.
A great shot and info - He looks quite a smart little bird !

He posed so nicely! This is a very nice composition. I love how his green body mirrors the green of the pier.
