A mere nine weeks ago, my nephew-in-law, had a stroke at age 55 which paralyzed him from head to toe on his right side. K is married to my niece, as seen together in this portrait shot taken yesterday. I have been part of a team of six (four family members and two close friends) who have been helping my niece's family in all ways possible. K is doing well with all of his therapies. There are ups and downs for sure. But, close family, close friends, and wonderful neighbors have all been at the family's side in their time of need. By the grace of God, K is still with us. We are all eternally grateful.
1 Peter 5:10, NIV: "And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast."
Thanks for posting this beautiful photo of your family members and for sharing the testimony. Praise God for his recovery underway! This same thing happened to a man in our church who is about the same age as your nephew-in-law. Von is still in a wheelchair but is making progress daily. Like you, we are all so thankful that he is still with us! And speaking again! If you think of it, please pray for Von and his wife, Kim! Long road ahead, but they are already giving God all the glory! Happy (blessed) Christmas to you and your precious family members!
@bjywamer Thanks for your comment, Barb. K is making phenomenal progress. After a two-week stay at the UofW Hospital he was able to walk out and 80% of his speech was back. He walks with a limp and his right arm is weak. Hence, six to eight different types of therapy appointments each week. But, as you know it's hard for the doctors to prognosticate what percentage of recovery will be final.
This is a wonderful portrait shot but I am sorry to hear that he had a stroke. It sounds like he has a lot of loving people around him and I hope he will recover soon.
So sad, especially at this time of rejoicing. May God be with him in his journey and hopefully to recovery. My prayers will be with him and all of you.
A beautiful portrait, Gloria. Wishing K and family the best in 2020 for his recovery. Strokes can be so debilitating and it takes a long time to recover. Glad they both have loving help...
