Symbol of Manitoba

These life size statues of buffalo/bison that grace the entrance to the Provincial Parliament Buildings were made in New York City. When they were ready to be installed the floors had already been laid with marble and there was fear that bringing these heavy (5000 pounds each) statues in would mar them. The Canadian solution? Place these beasts on huge slabs of ice and slide them in!
Great shot and love the story too!
