I drove to Wendy's for lunch and to the grocery store and back in the afternoon. In the evening, my family and I went to a family-friend's house and we had cake and talked. I had such a good time talking with Shayna and Hayley. I was going to use a shot of gift wrapping from an angle for the Abstract August challenge but for some reason, I thought this was a better shot. To me, it captured what the event was all about.
A three in one birthday cake! Watch how you've centered your subject and a little further away from your subject would have put it in better focus. But it's so nice and festive and you're right- it definitely captures the highlight of the party!
Good shot. I could see the cake was slightly off focus. However, I liked this angle because the frosting looked 3 D. A cake captures the birthday celebration better than the wrapping paper would. That is one big reason why I am struggling with Abstract August. Abstracts don't usually express the events in my life.
