I had a hard time deciding which of my 4 photos that I took today to upload to 365 Project. I chose this one because I thought it would remind me of going into downtown for errands. I also had a shot of a pine tree, the moon, and some downtown traffic (not in one shot of course)
You've got some strong lines going through this picture, but the bridge cuts some of it off. You might have been moving so it's hard to keep an eye on the compositon, but when you're dealing with verticals and horizontals you want to keep the subject within the rule of thirds. You have the bridge right in the center here, so that's why it feels as if the buildings are short.
@sfeldphotos Well thanks to the wonders of digital photography you can upload the picture and try it again if you want. I can't tell you how many times I dabble with something and end up erasing everything and starting again.
Nice city scape. I am experimenting with cropping this month. I wonder what this would look like if you cropped this to just the upper right hand corner, leaving the bridge under the buildings and a little under the bridge. I think cropping is a fun thing to do (and also challenging for me).
