Volunteer Fair Photo Options

The photo on the right was the photo they actually ran in the paper in the article about that Volunteer Career Fair I told you about in the previous photo. The other two are other ones that I thought should have ran instead of the one they chose. Which one do you think they should have ran or are you happy with the one they did run? I unfortunately forgot to take a photo for the 23rd so this will have to do.
Great shots. I prefer the one on the left, because it seems to better portray the volunteer fair. The person on the left seems to be carefully listening to what is being said. The person on the right seems to be trying to convince him to volunteer. The person in the middle either seems to be looking out for other people approaching the booth or listening in to the conversation.

I like the one they chose and believe it or not, agree with their choice. Although the one you like could have been run as well. So here is why- the one on the right puts the viewer into the action. We are looking over the shoulder of the student to see what's on the table. These kinds of events are meant to be places of discovery in many ways. What school has the training I'm looking for in my career? What kinds of jobs are available in my major? It's a place of action. Although it looks like there is an interesting discussion going on in the left-sided picture, it's not as active as the student bending over the information table on the right-sided picture. Secondly, the picture on the left has a very typical perspective- straight on. Someone would probably only give that picture a quick glance it they saw it in a paper, But the one on the right has a more dynamic pov. As if you're coming into the scene from slightly below it. Those two factors are what makes me prefer the one on the right. The black and white genre is icing on the cake- gives the picture a very journalistic quality. So there's my 2 cents' worth!
