Nice shot. In my state, we call this henbit. It is considered a weed here because it can take over crop fields. I find the blossoms beautiful, especially when a whole crop field is covered by these early blossoms. I do weed this out of my yard and garden, because it tends to spread quickly. This plant is beneficial for pollinators, such as bees. The seeds can be eaten by birds. The plant is said to be edible by humans.
