Squirrel with Blond Tail

This is a squirrel in my backyard with a strange tail. I've seen it for the past couple weeks in our neighborhood and I wonder if it has some sort of mutation. He kind of looks like Scrat the squirrel from the Ice Age films.

Good capture. Where I live, there are squirrels that look like they are crosses between the gray squirrels and the red fox squirrels. I always wonder why some squirrels look so different than the others.
