street shot - b&w by shannejw

street shot - b&w

Sorry, mad catch up - having my daughter down for the weekend and meetings after work on Monday and Tuesday plus a tube strike today doesn't make for spare time

This is the black and white version of the tube shot in my extras album to show the choices made between black and white and colour. I usually post street shots as b&w. This is taken at Canning Town waiting for a DLR train to Stratford on long exposure to get the tube light trails

It is an entry for week 2 of the February B&W Book Club - http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/20950/bw-book-club-week-2-feb-3-9

Thank you for looking and your amazing response to my light trails picture, and the geometry before that. I'm going to try and catch up on your pictures before posting another picture so I catch up gradually.
wow amazing shot love it in B&W

I can never seem to get that great blur - having looked at the Exif its because you are using a longer shutter speed that I would have thought - I will try again soon

Brilliant Shanne, brave in B&W to strip the colour out, but works so well, this is a fav.

I think the b/w works really well here.

Great shot Shane...and I agree with Sean, this works great as a B&W and I feel it has more drama than the color version.

Wow! I love that motion blur!

Superduper shot !!

While I love the red of the train in the color version, it catches my eye and distracts me from the people on the platform, while they catch my attention in the b&w version.

Fabulous. This looks like a transparent tube xx

lovely pov - cool trails and motion blur... did you handhold for 4s? or somewhere to perch the camera? regardless, i think this came up very nicely!

love how the blur is see through!

This is a super cool capture, love the movement of the train.

Yeah. The B&W version works better I think.

Love the blur and the lighting. You really capture the motion of the train

@northy @vignouse the camera is held against that wall that gives you the line running to the left of the shot - so not totally hand held, still needs me to hold it pretty stable - this was the best of the bunch for lack of wobble

Love the B&W
