"I've had a browse through your pics and you have a great selection of styles. I wonder if I can challenge you to focus on emotions and expressions this week. Something that will trigger a response in the viewer. ... Does that sound life something you think you'd be able to enjoy doing?"
I had two thoughts for this series - the version I've just done, which is what happened when I found the red heart while looking for these roses, and another version starting with a coy looking mannequin with flowers behind his back, secondly offering his heart and finally jumping for joy. I have taken the shots for that series too.
Thank you for looking, you're all superstars and thank you for the fantastic response to Love Actually and Rejection yesterday and the day before - both of which are now on the PP and New Faces. You're all wonderful
Ok I am absolutely in love with your last 3 days of photos...so creative. It's amazing how a wooden structure can display so much emotion. All 3 are my faves
Poor, poor guy! Because of his lack of back/front, my brain first interpreted this image that he was thrown down on his knees with his head thrown back, but then I realized I had him inversed.
Aw I love them all but this is my favourite I think. Great response to your given challenge. I really love the stark colours with just a pop of colour each time.
Another fav. That Bruno Mars song when I was your man immediately popped into my head when I saw this. "I should have brought you flowers when I had the chance..." It just added to the melancholy mood if the shot for me. Fabulous
I love what you've been doing with this little guy and how much emotion the shots show. I think I need to find one for my collection of props and junk!! LOL
My brain did the same thing, @archaeofrog! I saw "our hero" in the throes of abject desolation. This is a great shot regardless of perspective! Terrific series. Definitely met the challenge, Shanne. Will we see the other series?
I had exactly the same view as @archaeofrog and @voiceprintz and didn't see the other way until Katie mentioned it. Fantastic shot and who knew a wooden doll could evoke so much emotion?!
Your observational skills are just so incredible ...the body language of this series of mannequins is spot on. So much so that they evoke emotions. Congrats on the success of these photos - well deserved recognition.
Love how this one and the one yesterday is all soft tones, no blacks or greys.
