We had more snow overnight and woke up to a blanket of white. As my daughter was feeling better I got out for a walk in the Forest this morning, and was the first person down this bridleway - there are tracks: fox, rabbit, bird and a few others I didn't recognise, but no boot marks.
I am planning to participate in Flash of Red February a month of b&w, which starts by focussing on the light, but there was no light particularly today. It was mostly grey and snowy/rainy/sleety and I wanted to capture the snowy forest. It's naturally monochrome.
Three good things:
1. Really cool walk in the forest in the snow this morning
2. My sewing machine just about managed to finish off my daughter's jeans (she's mostly made them);
2. New shirt for me cut out ready to sew and my daughter's patchwork quilt strips are cut out and started being sewn together.
Thank you for looking and for putting yesterday's hook and so many of my January pictures on the PP. You are all so supportive. I try to thank you in my comments here rather than thank you individually and spend the time looking at your pictures.
A very moody shot with the cloudy light. We also have those light coloured leaves that cling to the tree all winter. (the small tree with a hint of colour on the left)
They look so pretty when the sunlight catches them.
Hi Shanne, hmmm how about some deliberate blur this week , or a soft focus photo of some kind, you could shoot through some stocking material stretched over the lens, or smear a ring of vaseline on some plastic to hold over the lens as a diy filter to achieve the effect. .

Great on black - highlights all the paw prints :)
Fab start to the challenge
