The last Wednesday of the month, so the view of the farm - pretty dreich day, misty, murky, flat grey sky, but the what look like beets or turnips in the field have come on a lot with the recent rain although it's still very dry underfoot. The rest of the pictures are on the shanne-farm-view tag.
Three good things:
1. I got out on my own for a wander down into the fields beyond the local nature reserve (it's on the right here);
2. Seeing a blackbird building her nest - didn't get a shot sadly, but saw her on my way down and back;
3. Actually warmer than it looked, too hot for jeans.
Thank you for looking and your amazing comments, you're all superstars. I prefer to spend time looking at your pictures rather than thanking you individually below.
I hadn't known how you would spell 'dreich' - our Scottish friends use it often (or a very similar word). They usually use it when it's misty wet but not raining!
the farmer seems to be doing his or her work properly - it will be good to have a record of the crops growing and all through to harvest - plenty of green now. Glad you are able to get out and about.
Never heard that expression before - I've thought about doing seasonal shots of the field at the bottom of the garden but have never got around to it. Off to check out your farm tag now!
Dreich is such a brilliant Scots word. It's up there with "Numpty" and the somewhat cheekier "b*wb*g" ;) Love this idea for a monthly project. I'll check out the rest. x
