Life is a minestrone by shannejw

Life is a minestrone

For the song title challenge, Life is a Minestrone by 10CC (it was actually for the stir fry we ate on Sunday, but all but the ginger are minestrone ingredients). And also for the Dogwood 52 week challenge which for has been a challenge this week, and I've discarded several attempts and failed to find a natural ingredient to tie into the 30 days wild (I was thinking of elderflower):
Composition: Leading Lines
You have already used leading lines to show Infinity. Now try to use strong leading lines in food photography.

About the Compositional Eye category:
“In past challenges we have explored the rules of composition. This year we push the rules even further by using them in specific ways to train your compositional eye.”

Three good things from Sunday:
1. Got round most of the more far flung scarecrows (too late to see some of them) both on my own for an afternoon walk and with my daughter for her evening's wander.
2. much warmer sunnier day
3. nice stir fry made with fresh ingredients rather than a reduced pack (leek, carrot, onion, ginger, garlic, sesame seeds, Chinese leaf, green beans) served with egg fried rice.

Thank you for looking and your amazing comments. You're all fantastic. I prefer to take time looking at your pictures rather than thanking you individually below
Guess what we just had for lunch ;-)

How I loved 10CC. Super image, and you've got me singing along!

Great use of natural lines! ☺

I'm not familiar with 10cc but I do enjoy a good minestrone!

I am afraid I am old enough to remember 10CC, I believe they were from Nottingham? Quite like minestrone soup too. Nice lines in this shot.

Yum! I'll bet that soup was so delicious. Nice shot.

Hahaha, I had forgotten that one! Great song and shot!

oh yes, such a great 10CC song! Rick Fenn now lives here locally and plays in several bands and still rocks :)

Nice. (Food and photo)

fresh ingredients are the best :-) sounds like a nice stir fry!

I like both stir fry (although I'm not much for cooking it with no wok in the cupboard) and Minestrone (a Fall/Winter staple for us!). I'm glad I'm eating a salad as I'm catching up here- this shot looks so fresh and good it'd make me hungry.

i've been forgetting the 52-week themes. i need to at least catch up on that. i like this for its randomness, or it feels random and it came out great. aces!

I’m so sorry — I just realised I had not given you the challenge I intended to this morning. Apologies. Since I see you are doing 30 Days Wild, do you think you could slip in one “Recently wild” day? Make a still life composition, outside, of at least five different kinds of natural, normally wild material that you have chosen and arranged yourself? If that won’t work, let me know and I’ll give you an alternate.

creative food close-up

Nice capture. Healthy food.

@summerfield pretty much random, out on the counter/chopping board for cooking, I'd peeled the ginger then looked at the pile and thought it would work for the weekly themes.

This works well Shanne for your theme... one (salivating) Fav coming up!

Nice image. reminds me.......I need to make some fresh soup!
June 11th, 2019
lovely lines

Yum and well done

I think fresh vegetables count as wild. We don’t have elderflower but a sprig of thyme could go with minestrone. Hope it was good eating.

You have put so much thought into this for all those challenges, well done!
June 13th, 2019
This will make a great soup!
Great lines!

@shannejw Hi Shanne, we're get pushed partners next week. For your challenge could you make a photo in the style of a Salvador Dali painting?
June 15th, 2019

great bit of application to fit this into two challenges so well.
