These steps link two parts of one of my regular dog walks. The walk starts in the valley, where the path follows the river, meandering through tall grasses and rushes. A raised wooden walkway over a marshy area leads to these steps. The steps ascend to a sort of ridge, bordering a granite quarry, which has panoramic views across the countryside of south Leicestershire and across to the hills of Charnwood Forest.
