Packhorse Bridge by shepherdman

Packhorse Bridge

This packhorse bridge near a neighbouring village appears to randomly sprout from the middle of a field. Presumably this was the original bridleway route into the village until the adjacent road, with a much wider bridge, was built 200 yards away. There are still many packhorse bridges across England, often still serving a bridleway or footpath. I dont know how old this one is, but most were built between 200 and 350 years ago.
