I love the contrasts in this one. The trees against the snow, and snow against the deep blue sky - the sort of contrasts that I think that you only get in the cold dry air of a clear sunny winter day at 2,400m, above the pollution and humidity found at lower altitudes. I have to admit that this photo was taken a day or so before the 28th. The 28th was our last day of skiing, and it was snowing, with thick fog at some level on each piste. As an inexperienced skier, the lying powder snow was advantageous – it helped with the braking! The fog, on the other hand made navigation difficult and photo opportunities somewhat limited.
