Trinity Hospital Almshouses, Leicester by shepherdman

Trinity Hospital Almshouses, Leicester

Originally established in the 14th century, abd rebuilt in 1901, these almshouses, charitable housing, in Leicester were used for their original purpose, sheltered housing for the elderly, until 1995. The buildings are now part of De Montfort University, but the Almshouses still exist as a charitable foundation – as purpose built modern sheltered flats for the elderly.
I love these old red brick buildings ...so evocative of the Victorian era
