Rain Storm by shepherdman

Rain Storm

My son and I enjoyed a pub lunch together in Leicester today. We sat briefly outside, before being driven in by torrential rain. The sky had become dark, and dusk fell as street lighting came on. There was lightning all around and crashes of thunder, before the heaviest rain that I have seen in a long time. The pub, alongside a tree lined path, became a riverside establishment. Oh well, if you are going to be trapped inside a building there are worse places. We got off lightly. Friends near Hinckley, not far from home, suffered hailstones the size of a fist. All had cars badly damaged, one friend lost two greenhouses, and one lost his conservatory roof.
Monsoon conditions! It's so bizarre this year, the weather pattern has completely changed due, so I hear, to a loop in the jet stream! Amazing capture of the rain which does look just like 'stair rods'!
