Remains of Cavendish House, Abbey Park, Leicester

We met up with family at Abbey Park in Leicester today. My 25 year old son joined us – I used to bring the boys here over 20 years ago to run around the low walls that mark out the layout of the original Abbey. Cavendish House was built in the grounds of the Abbey following the demolition of the Abbey during the dissolution, and was itself destroyed during the English Civil War. This remaining façade now forms one of the entrances to Abbey Park.
Wow!!! Looks like an amazing place to explore!!!

Oh! Is that where we used to go? I thought it was the Jewry Wall in Leicester I could remember, but that always seemed to small compared to my memories of it.
